"Assessment on the choice of a renewable energy source for Re-tek`s office and warehouse facility in East Kilbride" by Edinburgh Napier University and Re-Tek UK
The study evaluates the best option for Re-tek UK Ltd in a choice and installation of a renewable energy source for its site in East Kilbride. The warehouse and office comprise over 22,000 sqft and employ 18 full time staff. Re-tek offers disposal services to a variety of business sectors which facilities recycling or refurbishment of their used business, telecom and IT equipment.
Re-tek are keen to improve their green credentials by using a renewable energy source to help with the power consumption on site which is rising in line with growing business. The most obvious future benefits would be less of a reliance on conventional forms of power, and the escalating costs associated this, as well as a marked reduction in the emissions associated with the use of conventional fuels.
The study proposes the most suited form of renewable energy for the location and business.
Key words: post-1919 building, renewable energy
